Do-It-Yourself

Our kits are perfect for the DIY enthusiast (and for those not so enthusiastic about doing it yourself we can always DIFY-“Do it for you”…maybe I just created the newest texting term). Every kit we make comes pre-cut, pre-sanded, routed, sealed (as per customer choice), and includes all the fasteners you will need (even post bases for pergolas, gazebos, and pavilions).

*Note you can choose the Unfinished stain option if you would like to finish it yourself – FIY.

All of our structures can be purchased as a kit, and each kit comes with detailed instructions, so there’s no guessing when putting it together! We are always happy to help with technical support as well, so if you get stumped give us a call! And, I dare say these instructions would also work well as a blueprint for those who want to build from scratch. If you would like us to install it, call our office to see if we can install in your specific location. If we do not install in your location, we can refer you to a reliable contractor that you can contact who can help with assembly!

Mounting brackets are also included with all our DIY kits. The brackets are a hidden style bracket, which provides a nice clean finish! Most structures are installed on a concrete pad or footings. If on footings, we like to form the top of the footing to the size of the post as seen to the right. That allows you to bring dirt, gravel, or bark right up to the post and hide the footing. Posts can also be cut to account for variance in elevation. At Notched we make it easy to design, order, and install a beautiful custom structure!

For Those DIY’ers, We Can Help!

If you choose to have your kit installed by a professional, we would be happy to help. We do have our own team of installers as well as authorized installers in other areas. If there is not an authorized installer in your area, just find a carpenter or contractor locally, and they will have no problem putting it together.

As mentioned above our kits are simple to install, and the instructions are clear; So you will have no problem as long as you played with Lincoln Logs as a child. (You or your contractor may also call in for tips or help when installing your custom timber shade structure!)
